Memories of a Final Trip Pt. 1

These are some of my experiences on the final trip I took with my Mum before she passed away.  It was the weekend of her 65th Birthday and we travelled to Tofino & Parksville with my Auntie & her two daughters.

The roar of the sea blasts my unaccustomed ears.  It’s invigorating.  I run along the hard packed sand at Cox Bay in Tofino.  I notice how the trees have grown in the shape of waves themselves from the constant pummelling of the salty sea air.  The undersides of the branches grey and dead giving the appearance of stone, the top sides perfectly green.  The sea is stormy and full of delighted surfers.
